Update on the merge activities

The work continues to form the new Välinge Bjelin Group and to create a world leading company in Innovation as well as in Production and Sales with strong synergies between the divisions.

We will try to share information along the merge process. Five levels of information will be given:

1. General information sent out to all entities globally in both Välinge and Bjelin for all employees.

2. Country specific information
3. Division-information specific for Välinge or Bjelin organization
4. Site specific information
5. Group/Department information

The owners work on the final documentation and the goal is to finalize the formalities as soon as possible, but we are already now taking steps to adjust our structure to fit the new group.

On the management side we work on both the formal organization as well on the way of working to ensure information flow and visibility on all parts of the group. To ensure efficiency and clarity in work some functions will be concentrated in one division even if serving the whole group with central and local competences.

The staff functions of the Välinge Bjelin Group will be based in Viken and will initially consist of Patent&Legal lead by Marcus Palm and Finance, IT and HR lead by Andreas Lindqvist.

In Välinge Innovation with licensing, R&D and technology, the management structure is well defined and only small adjustments will be made in comparison to existing structure.

In the industrial and product division of Bjelin the basic structure is somewhat more complex with all our different sites, technical functions, product categories and sales. All areas must be represented in a balanced way in the structure to ensure good overview and decision structure. More details will be worked out but below chart show the general structure.

All decisions and activities shall be taken in the context of that we are soon to be a formally merged group.

We have full understanding that in the phase we are in right now, with a direction pointed out towards a merge but not all structures in place, might create unclarity regarding responsibilities and mandates in the organisation. With this in mind we ask you all to be patient with the situation and try to keep up the good work despite potential unclarity. It is every employee’s obligation to support the merge process with a constructive and solution oriented approach.
